Welcome to the West Haven Italian American Civic Association (WHIACA) Website. We are also known as the West Haven IA Club. 

The association also owns and operates the Westwoods Ballroom.

Club Hours - Members Lounge

M, W, F - 5:30PM to 11:00PM

Sat - 11:30AM to 5:00PM

We will be open on Tuesday May 22nd from 5:30PM to 10:00PM

NEW: HAPPY HOUR!!! Stop by on your way home from work Friday.

We will be opening the mebers lounge at 3PM on Fridays.

Drinks specials include reduced price beers and mixed drinks plus we will have finger food while it lasts.

We need your support to continue this so please come down and support your club - if you don't come we will go back to regular Friday hours. Thank you.

About the WHIA Club

The club was established in 1959 and has a mission to promote active participation in all civic, educational and social affair

The BOD oversees the operation of the association and abides by the club's official by-laws. Elections are held every 2 years to elect a set of officiers. Current officers are:

Membership

Our membership is open to the general public and applications are reviewed monthly at our Board of Directors Meeting. Applicants must be sponsored by an existing member. We own and operate the Westwoods Ballroom. Any male citizen of the United States, being of sound mind and of Connecticut legal drinking age shall be eligible to apply for membership in the Association.

There is also an Auxilary for which membership is available to any female citizen of the United States being of sound mind and of Connecticut legal drinking age.  

Membership is $40.00 per year for men's organization and $18.00 per year for the women's auxilary. Benefits include private member's lounge, access to the club event's, rental discounts and more, Please email Pat Cassella at iamembership@westwoodsballroom.com  

Events

The club hosts monthly events such as New Years eve, Valentines Day Dance, St. Patrick's Day  and many  more. These events range in price but are typically $35 for a full sit-down dinner, live music, open bar and more! Events are available to both memebers and non-members.

Newsletter

The club publishes a monthly newsletter that is available to members only as a hard copy sent through US Mail. This newsletter provides information on up and coming events, businesses of the organization, hours of operation and more.

The organization operates under a set of official By-laws. These are available to all club members.
